Presbyterian Health Plan Earns 4.5 Stars for Medicare Advantage HMO Plan

November 16, 2015

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, November 9, 2015—Presbyterian Health Plan’s 2016 Medicare Advantage Senior Care HMO plan recently was given a 4.5-star rating (out of five stars) by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This achievement places Presbyterian Health Plan among the top 15 percent of Medicare plans nationally based on quality and experience ratings.

The HMO plan also earned the distinction of Best Medicare 2016 plan in New Mexico by U.S. News and World Report.

“We are thrilled to be recognized with a 4.5 rating,” said Lisa Lujan, President, Presbyterian Health Plan. “This recognizes the hard work of many employees to continuously improve the quality and experience we offer members and demonstrates the value we can provide when our members receive their healthcare and their coverage from the same integrated healthcare system.”

The 4.5 star rating recognizes overall quality improvements and a better experience for members. Successful efforts have included working closely with Presbyterian Medical Group to better measure progress and identify any gaps in care, as well as a continued focus on preventive care.

PHP has offered Medicare Advantage plans since 1998. The HMO plan serves more than 34,000 members in New Mexico.
