ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – To honor the gift of life made by organ donor and transplant families, Presbyterian Transplant Services and New Mexico Donor Services hosted the 2018 Donate Life Rose Ceremony on December 7, 2018 at Presbyterian Hospital.
At the event, personal dedications from recipients and donors will be attached to roses that will be included in the Donate Life Rose Parade Float at the 130th Rose Parade on January 1, 2019. Thousands of roses are added to the float each year, inspiring people nationwide to become donors.
Presbyterian Transplant Services, located at Presbyterian Hospital, is one of two transplant centers in New Mexico. Since the program began in 1986, Presbyterian has performed more than 1,000 kidney transplants. Building on the success of the kidney transplant program, Presbyterian Hospital launched a pancreas transplant program in 2017. It is the only hospital in New Mexico to offer pancreas transplants.
