New Presbyterian Medical Group Clinic Opening In Rio Rancho

September 23, 2014

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Presbyterian Healthcare Services is expanding clinical services in Sandoval County with a new clinic in Rio Rancho.

The new clinic, part of Presbyterian’s continued investment in this growing community, is set to open on October 6, 2014. The address is 3777 NM Highway 528 NE, near the intersection of Highway 528 and Enchanted Hills Boulevard.

The 17,000 square-foot clinic is a $5 million project and is designed with future growth in mind. It will provide primary care services and an onsite TriCore Reference lab for patient convenience. Future plans include adding radiology, a pharmacist clinician and behavioral health practitioner onsite. Like Presbyterian’s other primary care clinics in central New Mexico, this clinic uses a Patient Centered Medical Home approach to patient care.

Providers will include David Gonzales, MD, an internal medicine provider with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, and Kathryn Jones, a certified family nurse practitioner. Both will provide primary care services to patients, including preventive care, identifying and treating common medical conditions, and assessing more urgent medical problems.

Presbyterian has a long history of serving Rio Rancho and Sandoval County. This new clinic joins two other Presbyterian Medical Group multi-specialty clinics on High Resort in Rio Rancho.

In 2011, Presbyterian opened Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, the first full-service hospital in Sandoval County. The site also includes a Physician Office Building for specialty providers, including heart, pulmonary and orthopedic specialists. Currently, Presbyterian is building a second patient tower at the hospital scheduled to open in late 2015 that will include a cancer center, 48 additional hospital beds and four additional operating rooms.
